What does gift card region mean?
Platforms like Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Google Play and Apple run separate stores for different countries, each with its own currency, prices and tax rules. A gift card is tied to one of those stores. When you redeem it, the platform checks that your account belongs to the same store.
How to check your account region
- Steam: open Account details. Your store country and wallet currency are shown there.
- PlayStation: go to Settings, Users and Accounts, Account, Profile. The country is listed under your account information.
- Xbox / Microsoft: sign in to your Microsoft account and open Your info. The country or region is shown in profile details.
- Google Play: in the Play Store app, open Settings, General, Account and device preferences, then Country and profiles.
- Apple: open Settings, tap your name, then Media & Purchases, View Account, Country/Region.
What are Global gift cards?
