Millions of gift cards go unused every year. If you have one you will not spend, selling it turns that balance into money you can actually use. Here is how the process works and how to do it safely.
How selling a gift card works
- Submit the card details: brand, region, card value and the code (plus PIN if it has one).
- Verification: the buyer checks the code with the issuer to confirm it is valid and unused.
- Payout: once verified, you receive the agreed percentage of the card value.
What payout should you expect?
Buyers pay less than face value because they take on verification work and resale risk. Payout depends on the brand, region and demand. On Reloadly the rate is simple: 88% of the verified card value, with a 12% fee and no hidden charges. A $100 card pays $88.
How to sell a gift card on Reloadly
- Open Sell Your Gift Card and fill in the form. No ID or documents are needed.
- An account is created for you automatically, so you can track the request in My Account.
- After verification, 88% is credited to your Reloadly wallet.
- Withdraw to PayPal, USDT, UPI (India) or bank transfer from the Withdraw tab, or use the balance to buy other gift cards.
How to sell safely
- Only sell cards you bought yourself or received as a genuine gift. Never sell a card obtained from someone who asked you to buy it for them.
- Sell on a website with clear terms, a real support address and a visible payout rate.
- Do not share codes over social media or chat with strangers who promise unusually high rates.
- Double-check your payout details. Crypto and UPI payments cannot be reversed if the address or ID is wrong.
Partly used card? You can still sell it. Enter the remaining balance as the card value and choose “Partly used” on the form.
Why was my card rejected?
Cards are rejected if the code is already redeemed, invalid, region-locked differently from what was entered, or linked to a disputed purchase. You will see the reason in My Account and by email.
